The 2015 forecast colours from Dulux is bold and insightful. Having released four ranges, Wildland, Earthwerks, Modhaus and Silent Shift, you can bet that these colours will pop up in mainstream homes pretty quickly.
Wildland is a play on the primitive colours that light and darkness create from our own natural Australian backyard. Based on wood, stone, leather and fur, Dulux has summarised the Australian material world. See similar colours in this Sydney home here.
Earthwerks is really the Australian landscape captured on film, printed onto paper and then extracted into a paint tin. Full of vivid greens and blues and rich browns and mustards, it is inspired by the trend of the seamless integration between inside and outside or bringing the outside, well…in. See similar colours used here.
Modhaus draws inspiration from the Memphis Group, who from 1981, produced post-modern furniture in light of Art Deco and Pop Art styles. Very bright and very fun, these colours will literally knock your socks off!
Silent Shift is all about the calming spaces that we really need to create in order to keep our sanity after returning home from a tough day at the 9 to 5. Colours such as Mud Berry, Zenith Heights and Salmon Grey are supposed to lull you into that false sense of security called your home, where hot cocoa, warm blankets and cookies live. Let me tell you, it’s kind of growing on me! Want to see similar colours in action? Take a look at Kelly Wearstler’s lounge room design for Cameron Diaz on Elle Decor’s website here.
